Over at the annual Hi-Rez Expo, developer Hi-Rez Studios announced a couple of new features and content for their games, including Battlegrounds for Paladins. During the final day of the expo, a work-in-progression showmatch of Battlegrounds was streamed live. It is indeed the first ever hero-based battle royale mode on the market, pitting 100 heroes against each other in an epic battle. There are supposedly 2 modes, 50 vs 50 and last man standing. Battlegrounds will launch for Paladins later this year as a free content update.
